With a couple of days holiday in the spring, we jumped on a train from Montreux heading to Venice via Milan . Six hours later and we were on the Rialto bridge waiting to meet the gentleman whose fault we were Air BnBing in for the next couple of nights. The flat was perfectly located right in the middle of Venice and we couldn’t fault it at all. It overlooked a canal, but then practically every apartment does, but it was tag the end of a street and even with a busy bar beneath it, it was never too noisy. We walked everywhere unless we took a water taxi and visited Burano and Murano, islands a boat trip away from Venice, famous for their silk weaving and brightly coloured houses. We ate some great meat, pasta and gelato, drank cheap strong espressos and loved every minute of our stay.
